I WANT TO CONVERT PNEUMATIC CYLINDERS TO PLUNGER OPERATED BY ELECTRIC SOLENOIDS

Can somebody suggest me the technical calculations or some thumb rules used for :

-Replacing pneumaticaly operated cylinders (used in process instrumentation) to plunger operated by electric solenoids.

-Also I require vendors from india who can supply plunger operated by electric solenoid coils.

Really need more info..On/off control? Proportional?PID? A solenoid valve will only give on/off control, in and of itself.What you probably need are electrical linear valve positioners.For electro-pneumatic control, check out ASCO Solenoids.If you wish to use existing pneumatic control output to operate electrical linear actuators, you will need a converter,type depending on required output.

Do a Google seach for "linear solenoids" and check out several manufacturers, They may have info on replacing cylinders'].
