Is Universal Battery Pack Form Necessary for EV Battery Swap Tech

Swapping batteries seems better than waiting while your car is charging at the station. Still, it seems we are going to considerable expense and effort to duplicate what we have now --- pull in, stick the hose in the tank, and squeeze the handle.

Just sayin'.

Yeah, somebody sold somebody a 'bill of goods', and we are stuck paying the bill....I think it will run out of steam at some point, people will move on....The fact that we can't even maintain our existing grid doesn't seem to resonate with the greenies....

We can't manage to maintain all the infrastructure we have built over the years , so the solution is to build more infrastructure, defies logic...it's a false path....maintenance is a dull subject, it doesn't sell well...but new technology, even if it is basically useless, sells quickly, throw in the fantasy that you are saving the world, and it's off to the races...I think we are just along for the ride at this point...At some point people will realize that electric cars are so boring that you fall asleep in them...

I have no idea of how some of these doctoral theses get past the drawing board. It's a kite pulling on a winch coupled to a generator. And it's fundamental design makes its power intermittent.

If it had any merit whatsoever, private investors would be happy to fund its development, but these things almost always seem to be driven by unaccountable tax dollars from The People.

As I stated previously,a major power distribution network would be required to charge all of the vehicles on the interstate.Just imagine how many spares would be required to keep traffic moving,in and out at all hours.

Imagine the power required to charge this many batteries.

Even charge-on-the fly would still require large investment in distribution,even with low-cost high temperature superconductors.The DC on these conductors would have to be converted to A/C to charge the vehicles.

As stated,we cannot even maintain the infrastructure that we have,and never will have the labor force required,as long as people can make more money doing nothing than they can working.You can't put people back to work that don't want to work,and it is not their fault.They can get along just fine without working.

The depression-era was different story altogether.

Just imagine hanging off a cliff by a rope with a pick,scaling the face of the cliff of loose rock?A strong work ethic and an empty wallet will do it every time.

People had to work or starve.So they worked,and achieved the country's greatest economic turn around in history.

So being things as they are today,it is just a pipe-dream,and who knows what is in the pipe?

I've always found hunger to be a great motivator...When you are hungry your survival instinct takes over, your mind becomes more focused, your speed, strength, agility all seem to increase...It's the predator in you....

Judging from the businesses out there desperate to hire employees, there may not be enough hunger at this point. And yet I still see young, articulate, able-bodied people bumming handouts at the intersections. WTF?
