Prevent over and under greasing

12/11/2007 1:23 AM

I need a equation to determine the grease dispense rate to spherical roller bearing (NSK- 22328CE4) running at 1000RPM.

I'm using Castrol EP2 grease for multi grease lubrication points on my screens- heavy radial loads, operating at high temperature and dusty environment.

Calculations of grease in a roller bearing are fine. In a hostile environment, if you want the bearings to last longer, turn the seals around and utilize the grease as a flushing agent as well as a lubricant.

I am assumming that the high temperature grease is really below 350-500 F.

In addition, use Schaeffer #221-2 grease. It will take the radial loads, whereas Castrol cannot. If the temperature is constantly above 350 F., then a different grease is needed. Call me at 216-401-1845 if you need more information.
