74LVC1GX04GV for 3.3V and 5V Logic Signals

11/11/2025 1:46 AM

Hi everyone,

I’m working on a small circuit that mixes 3.3V and 5V parts. I used the 74LVC1GX04GV to handle the level shifting. It’s a tiny inverter chip that can take up to 5.5V on its input, even when running on 3.3V.

I powered it from 3.3V, sent in a 5V signal, and it flipped the logic perfectly, no timing issues or glitches so far. The output drives my next stage without any problems. Next, I’ll test how stable it is when I add more load or noise. I’m also curious if one chip per channel is too much or if I should use something with multiple gates. Has anyone here used this chip for level shifting or signal cleanup? Would love to hear what worked for you.

Thanks!
