Need a 3D model ASAP!!

12/13/2007 4:42 PM

Greetings all - Need a 3D model of an inline, pneumatic, lever activated screw gun.

Anybody got one or know of a site?

We create a large amount of models that we upload and other models that we capture to use in renderings, but do you think I can find one???

One of our draftsmen is modeling currently but I just need one ASAP to check fit.

Thanks...

Try googling Bosch Industrial Equipment. They make screw guns and torque guns. They will have 3D step files available online.

.... maybe.

Typically if you are trying to get solid geometry for consumer items from the manufacturer you are out of luck.

We have been able to get models from a number of our suppliers, but we are an OEM (build mega yachts). The items we have been able to get are not consumer items and the manufacturer is not concerned with the recipient copying their product.

The manufacturer of a screw gun will in all likelyhood hold the geometry of their housing and finished product near and dear and will not willingly part with it.

Why not just model it yourself?

Travis:

If you are looking for dwgs for marine components, try Ronstan International in Vancouver, BC. They carry a large supply of hard to find marine hardware and have supplied me with dwgs for a nuclear plant application I am working on. Talk to Jeremy Hill.

Thanx! - We are modeling ourselves at this point.

Just one of those things that we thought we could find and apply quickly.

Too much to model that pays the bills than to spend time on what doesn't.

But ultimately this will too so I can justify.

Thanx again!
