Synthesis of Edta Complexed Metal Ion

I wish to synthesize the edta/cobaltIII complex, possibly by ligand exchange reaction with cobaltic (III)(tri) acetate or maybe through hexammine cobaltic chloride,-However, I would much pefer to make the complex directly free of the chloride ion and only by reaction of edta and cobalt post formed at the +3 state within the complex, possibly using ambient aeration and a carbon catalyst. I also may consider using a strong oxidizer (not chlorine based) like sodium peroxide, but have reservations about the oxidizer attacking the ligand.

Basically, I wish to make the edta-cobaltIII complex without using the cobaltII chloride salt (via hexaaminecobalt(III) chloride) because I don't want to deal with the chloride ion within the final product. I can easily make the edta-cobaltIII complex by using cobat chloride but I would rather possibly use cobaltic acetate and not have the chloride ion left over.This way I could separate the acetate by elevating the temperature to 100deg.C without affecting the edta complex

Since posting this question I think I may have partly discovered the answer from R. D. Lindholm in "Organic Synthesis" 1978-"Hexammine CobaltIII Salts" However, all suggestions would still be appreciated
