Power Spring (clock spring) Design

To all,

I have a design for a cable retract related to a power spring (clock spring.)

I am looking for the design formulars.

Requirement for the spring: 20 lbs load, 3/8 width, fit-into 1.5 dia aluminum pocket, many turn as much as possible.

Please help

Look at clock spring manufacturers they have in the technical sheets such design indications or you better contact one of them and he will make the computation for you.

Check out Neg'ator springs at http://www.ametekhunterspring.com/products/constant.cfm. They've been making retractors of this type for a LONG time, and the springs worked well in several applications that I've been involved with in the past.
