Ultrasonic Cutting and Welding

01/13/2008 1:59 AM

Hello All,

I am studying on project about ultrasonic cutting and welding of textile materials.

What we trying to do is bulk cutting of circular (with a diameter of 30 mm to 90mm) pp based textile materials. In present conditions in every stroke we are cutting one product, real concern is make it two or more for every stroke. We made a ultrasonic cutting tool allows to produce two for each stroke.

Is there any application for ultrasonic cutting and welding for textile webs or similar material?

Thanks

By using the thermoplastic content of the material (in our case polypropylen textile material) with the help of ultrasonic vibrations and stabilized cutting tools, cutting and welding at the same time of different medias.

We have a machine made from Chase Machine Inc that we ultrasonic weld and cut mitts works very well. It embosses (welds) first then die cuts afterwards. It is capable of welding 4 layers together. It does this with 4 master rolls through cuffing and embossing rollers (ultrasonic welding stage) then through a diecut roller that has the exact pattern that embossing roller has.

Take a look at there website Ours is much bigger then the one they have listed under there laminater section but it is the same idea. There website is. www.chasemachine.com
