vapor absorption machine

which expansion device used in vapor absorption machine to separate high and low pressure?

working pressure is 6mm Hg-70mm Hg , very high vaccum is needed , at that pressure water evaporates a very low temp. how cooling effect is done ?

IS It possible in VAM to cool the water at 0 degree centigrade?

Why Li-Br solution - water combition is choosed for this?

The water-LiBr absorption cycle is attractive because the temperature required to concentrate the solution is moderate. It is therefore possible to run a chiller with heat from a fairly simple solar collector. There are technical challenges with this system that have not been completely resolved. If you do a little investigating on your own you will discover what many of them are.

Books on the subject of refrigeration and air conditioning are expensive; if you already have access to the internet, much of the same information is there for the looking, but you have to find it. Learning to do searches on the internet are almost as important to technicians (including air-conditioning mechanics) as having an understanding of thermodynamics and psychrometrics.

I remember a high school physics experiment. We put some concentrated H2SO4 in a beaker and placed a watch glass with some water in it over the beaker. The purpose of the H2SO4 was to absorb any water vapour. The beaker and watchglass were placed in a bell jar and we would start to draw down a vaccuum. As the pressure was reduced the water would start to boil then because it had drawn the heat of vapourization from its own mass it would suddenly leap up and form a mass of ice crystals. We guys would use it as a magic demonstration for some of the girls.

yes, it is possible in VAM to cool the water at 0 degree centigrade.

Li-Br is highly affinity with water at certain concentration.

what is boiling temp. of Li-Br according pressure in vapor absorption cycle?

There is an other site where the explained, th priciple using Amonium. where they reached -35°C but I cant find it no more.
