What is the resin used for making pelletised carbon

01/24/2008 12:56 AM

I have been trying to make activated carbon pellets for some time. As i know this will help in reducing the typical pressure loss developed by using a carbon treatment system in medium to large scale treatment system...

Hello Activechar,

There are a number of different binders used in the manufacture of pelletised activated carbon. However, I would suggest that you consider the necessity of pelletised activated carbon in your system. True enough, pelletised forms allow for consistent packing compared with say granular forms, and that 'can' lead to decreased pressure drop however you would need to account for the increase in required contact time and might end up designing an inefficient treatment system.

I've found that by contact an activated carbon specialist like www.eurocarb.com you might be able to source a better solution rather than pelletise unnecessarily.

Eurocarb.com isn't a scam, if you were looking for activated carbon information then a manufacturer and solutions supplier would probably be the best place to look.

The information about binders et al is freely available all over the net.

Why are you hiding inside the mask GUEST. Be brave and come out and identify yourself. Then I will tell you all I know about Eurocarb and what they do.

As a responsible professional I did my duty to warn.

There are a lot of things which I know I cannot talk in public ( I fear that I may be sued). One point for eg. is how they acquired an activated carbon plant in Sulawesi, Indonesia.

I believe you are an activated carbon professional, (judging by the screen name). I too am a person with some little knowledge in AC business (I have been involved in production, setting up plants, marketing etc for now over 24 years)

I think the guy behind the mask is having a vested interest in Eurocarb.

If you are interested please write to my email sisiraa@gmail.com. I will tell you things I know in private

Why do you Sri Lankans have to be so strange?

Any chance to hurl dung and you pick it up like it was gold. I think it's sad that you'd have to cry blue murder at the slightest opportunity - a local trait picked up from your politicians no doubt?

Any decent man will not hide behind a mask and make wild allegations. I assume you are the same guest who tried to kill the creativity of member ActiveChar who is a manufacturer of carbon who wanted to develop a new product. Then you recommend Eurocarb so that they can continue to make huge profits. You do not want Activechar to make pellet carbon so that he can be a competitor to big manufacturer. You are trying to use this respected professional forum for commercial gain. Shame on you! You abuse the privileges given to Guest.

Even if you are nopt the same so called Guest yet following apply to you

You are so big headed you go on to stereotype who Sri Lankans are..

You make disparaging remarks about a country, nationality. You should be ashamed of your boorish behaviour.

I challenge you to identify who you are without hiding under the mask Guest. Otherwise I take you as a coward who does not have a backbone.

THIS FORUM IS NOT A COMMERCIAL FORUM. Here we as professionals try to help each other.
