LCD

02/06/2008 12:33 AM

We want to replace a broken diplay Hosiden 9N26-40 (broken glass).

It is a display that is not produced by Hosiden any more and it has following properties:

1. 320x240 dots

2. high voltage CCFL backlight

3. only four data leads: D0, D1, D2, D3

4. it uses OKI M5299A and M6598 dot drivers.

5. it uses LA5315M variable divided voltage generator for multiple drive of LCD matrix.

6. glass dimensions: 130x100mm (the new dsplay could be smaller)

We have identified all the leads of its flat input cable (14wires):

1. Vref LA5315

2. Vcc LA5315

3. D3 M5299A

4. D2 "

5. D1 "

6. D0 "

7. J1-B (no jumper)(probaly disconnected)

8. Vss

9. Vdd

10. CP 47 M5299A

11. Load 49 M5299A

12. 48 M6598

13 39 M6598

14. GND

Two high voltage CCFL leads are separate..

S přátelským pozdravem / Mit freundlichen Gruessen / Best regards

This is a problem as standards in the display industry change rapidly and product life cycles can be measured in months.

There is a company that offers a solution to this problem. VARTECH Systems, Inc. http://www.vartechsystems.com/ has made a business out of repairing obsolete displays and providing drop-in replacements.

Good luck!
