flegelo

Havent got the foggiest where you would find a "dissolved gas" analyzer but the electrical device should have several functions,ie==

opens--continuity checker.

winding resistance--good ohm meter--to detect shorted windings.

insulation test--a "meger" or high votage breakdown to detect leaks between the windings and the chassis (assuming it's metallic).

Granger &/or Greybar El. usually carry these instruments--I believe Granger has the widest selection.

Good luck--Donzi

You can also obtain these instruments from Doble Engineering (www.doble.com). They make a line of Intelligent Diagnostic Devices (IDDs), including dissolved gas analyzers.
