Plastic testing probes

Does anyone knows why the flexural test for plastics, ISO178 calls for a 4 mm thickness probes?

Hi,

Please, may I have a copy of this ISO 178 and by flexural, I suppose, you mean Lamb waves...? If you can provide more details, I may be of some help.
