Sure (but please don't talk in txt language. Please. It is very unprofessional). There is an exciting new development utilising the nature of quantum physics to transmit data down a data line instantaneously, regardless of cable length (yes I do mean infinite speed).
I don't know how much help this will be as you probably have absolutely no idea what I am talking about (you did ask for LATEST electrical subjects). I suggest you have a look at the engineering and science newsgroup on the internet to get some ideas regarding current developments in the fast and ever-changing field of electrical engineering. Older technological developments which are still being refined and tested also include matter teleportation (as I mentioned above), artificial intelligence and superconductors (which have all been around and working even before I went to university).
Oh, then there is one of my favorites (we are a military contractor after all) - Electromagnetic armour for dissipating plasma energy (generated of course by explosives and electrical arcs), the first true electromagnetic energy system (which the average person would call a "shield"). Information available on this subject is a little restricted however (for obvious reasons), so will likely NOT be suitable for a seminar (and outside the scope of a 4th year engineering project). The less said about current developments in plasma-based and electromagnetic weapons the better (better steer clear of these).
Welcome to the REAL world of engineering development, it is a hell of a lot more exciting, complicated and terrifying than you may believe (and people say engineering is boring).
