Infrared receiver or any device to actuate a small electric circuit.

Hi all,

i need to activate (on-off) a small electric circuit.There are some LEDs which i want to on and off from a distance.I need a small IR receiving circuit and remote control device. Can any one suggest if anything available in market easily?

Perhaps, if you can define, "...a distance...," one can better answer your query. Five feet and a mile are both distances.

Have a look at the OSRAM homepage. They have cheap IR-devices with filtered amplifier and digital state output which can be used for. But keep in mind that the distance is important. Another important influence can be an industrial surrounding with lots of disturbances by motors, welding machines and even fluorescant lamps.

Is it a low-cost-quick-and-dirty-home-brew or a reliable security application?

THE DISTANCE IS 5 TO 10 FEET MAX.THERE WONT BE MUCH DISTURBANCE.
