Is ASTM A743, Grade CF-20 the same as MIL-S-81591 Composition IC 302 or a suitable substitute?

Ithink it's a suitable substitute

ASTM A743, Grade CF-20

MIL-S-81591 Composition IC 303

CF-20 & IC 302 are effectively the same material (various specifications apply) - but not the 303 as referenced by the other responder. 303 is intentionally resulphurized (or with selenium) for improved machinability. For improved corrosion resistance, try the lower carbon CF-8 (304ss), or even better CF-3 (304L).
