1. There is a direct relationship between pressure & temperature (as the pressure increases, so does the temperature).

2. The specific steam pressure used for heat transfer is limited by the following: a) Surface area, b) steam pressure, c) temperature rise

3. Quality of steam: "Wet" steam, or steam that is not 100% saturated, has a low heat transfer than dry/saturated steam because the water in the steam does not provide a heat transfer ratio of 1 BTU to heat 1 lb of water 1 deg F. With that said, it is very important adequately insulate the steam distribution pipe
