Hard Vacuum Seals

02/26/2008 8:06 PM

I'm trying to seal a rotating shaft that is going into a vacuum vessel.

The shaft is 5" in diametre and we are trying to achieve a vacuum of 0.001mBar. The shaft is doing about 600 rpm.

Any thoughts or recommendations?

Try a magnetic fluid seal.

LORD offers such fluids and they give as well support for design.
