Zeolite

02/27/2008 3:07 PM

I really need some help. I have a few questions, and I'm hoping someone might be willing to help me find the answers. If you don't have the answers, could you give me some direction so I can find them?

  1. Are there any long term negative effects for animals that live 14yrs or so and take a daily dose of zeolite? (1.5 to 5% of feed)
  2. If taken with feeding, does zeolite keep an animal, like a wolf, from digesting food properly? Inability to break down proteins for any reason?
  3. Does zeolite dehydrate the animal?

The type of zeolite I'm talking about is has mineral component of: 85% Clinoptilolite balance opaline silica Cation Exchange Capacity: 1.5 to 1.8 meq/gram ( as ammonium, -N)

Any input will be very much appreciated.

Can you try experimenting on an vertebrate that has a shorter lifespan? Mice come to mind, but they clock out around 4 years, so that can be quite the intensive study. Dehydration and toxicity rates could be determined in the first 30 days though, so if the experiment is fatal it would only take a month.

Hope that helps.
