Calibrate it? Why? Refer to the manufacturer's type test certificate; that is all you should need.

Unless it needs recalibration on a fluid the conductivity of which falls outside the manufacturer's range. In which case the best thing to do is to use a different measuring technique, and that means a different instrument.

Have you been on to ABB Kent for advice, or is this just an academic exercise?

Electro Magnetic flow meter are configured at the factory itself. No further calibration is needed on site.

Are you actually wanting to calibrate the flow meter? Or are you just wanting to set the operating range?

Actually we need to carryout every year calibration check as a routine maitenance.

for that we have to simulate the signals by ABB-Kent magmaster software.By SIMULATION, uner "TEST mode" we can test the Flow range, by entering Flow value in the converter and then verify corresponding 4-20mA output current siganl in the converter output.

Finally I got from our customer itself. thanks

generally you would setup a flow rig, 2 tanks, a pump and sometimes a certified flowmeter - pump a known volume of water from one tank to the other and check if the magflow reads correctly, if your rig has a flowmeter check the flow rate's match, if not adjust the k-factor slightly and repeat

Well it would appear that you just wish to verify the flowmeter and associated circuitry is working ok.. You don't actually need any fancy software to do this.

All you need is a null modem cable, a pc with a terminal emulator program running such as procomm or Hyperterm. set the comm port to 1, set the program to 4800 N 8 1 and you can talk directly to the flowmeter and control it by generating test signals ie, set the flow range, accum, etc etc... one final thing, sign in as "engineer" at level 1 to gain full access rights... Magmaster software allows you to extract (and upload txt files to the magmaster meter but I don't use it on a daily basis as it has lots of issues.. Stick to hyperterm and you wont go wrong.. The null modem cable has to be used regardless of the software you use.. John (AKA as Takorika) Blenheim New Zealand.

the easiest way is to log into a hyperterminal and log in as '31*engineer' although this is not the full access password it will allow access to simulate a flow. firstly check menu 41 to see flow span ( ie. the flow that will exact 20 ma) then press escape c1*1 then enter.press escape and type c2*(whatever value is in menu 41)then enter. this will generate 20 ma across terminals IC- and IC+. then press escape and type c2*0 then press enter. this will generate 4ma across IC- and IC+ . To escape test mode press escape then type c1*0 press return and you will be back on live flow....hope this helps....
