Miscellaneous Channel Dimensions

03/03/2008 2:29 PM

Hello all,

I have been searching for the "Theoretical Dimensions and Properties for Designing" Miscellaneous Channel. I have an outdated table for this, but that's just the problem...it's outdated. Of the few sources I have found there is no information of some basics like average flange thickness or the slopes of the legs. I have been all over the web searching. Does anyone know where I might find such detailed information.

Thanks,

The Capt

If you join AISC, they have all that available. That's the very best. You can also probably find one of their books used pretty reasonable.

Thanks,

I had been to their website before but got frustrated with it After a second attempt and a lot of digging, I did find some useful information on all structural steel shapes.

AISC had a great deal of free content.

Here are some of the useful links I found:

http://www.aisc.org/Content/ContentGroups/Documents/ePubs_Architects_Guide/ArchitectsGuide.pdf

Structural Steel Availability:

http://www.aisc.org//Template.cfm?Section=Steel_Availability

And from Nucor's site:

Looks as if you earned yourself a 'good answer' to your own question - good job!

Man, if they pick THAT as the keyword, I don't see how their pain could possibly end quickly!
