What sort of stuff interests you? Automotive, robotics, material handling, small intricate mechanisms, plastics, metals, wood, building, weapons, aeronautics, wind power, wave power? The above list sprang to mind faster than I could type it.

You need to provide some input if you expect us to provide ideas.

Think of all the mechanisms and engineering you see in a day...which of these things interest you or inspire you, or make you think 'I could design better than that'.

Where does your enthusiasm lie?

At 50+ years old I still have a list of projects which I havn't got time to complete...

I get frustrated at this recurring question from guys who appear to want a quick answer on a plate and yet seem devoid of inspiration of their own.
