Ah, that is sad. I've read all of his books, he was a true visionary. He had a nice run though didn't he?

Remember the short story - "The Nine Billion Names of God?". Long time since I've read it (about 30 years!) - but the last line is something like "... and the stars went out, one, by one". Seems fitting.

He'll be sadly missed.

Just heard. He was a great man, visionary, and writer and I will miss his work.

We have lost another true visionary - the world is indeed a poorer place.

I just read that M33 in triangulum flared the brightest ever gamma ray burst ever recorded on his day of death.

If you could have seen it in your night time sky it would have been the brightest object ever to have been visible from earth since a long time ago.

Seems very fitting that Triangulum provided the the fireworks for this sad event.
