power rating

in our site there is some motors with dual voltage rating .i.e 230/460 v with FLA 17.2/8.6 A.and in name plate it is also noted hat 7.5/5 hp.my doubt is how it come 2 power rating?

as per calculation output we will get 5 hp.but what is this 7.5 hp?any body please clarify me..

Looks like a typo in name-plate

It is double voltage motor and HP should not change.(7.5)

Can't be 7.5hp continuous, as rated input power is only 3956VA - but 5hp is possible at either voltage. Maybe 7.5hp refers to brief periods of high loading where about 50% more current will be drawn (that is, about 26A at 230V and about 13A at 460V).

Although not often seen in this power class, the 7.5 may be "peak" horsepower, voltage x locked rotor amps.
