'VSD` drive interference

V.F.D. drives put a LOT of 'hash` on the line (switching noise).
Isolate them from the rest of the electrical system
with inductors.
If you use a lot of V.F.D.s you might have to rethink your control philosophy
as heating of the inductors will introduce some losses..

There are several things you might try to help with the noise generated by your VFD. They are install a line reactor in front of the VFD to help cut down harmonic distortion feed back to the mains. Use VFD type cabling to motor(remember to ground the drain on one end only) to cut down on the flux from the wire. Wherever possible separate the vfd wiring from close proximity to control wiring. Consider if you can use a NEMA 4 VFD in its own enclosure, isolating it from the control cabinet completely. Some VFD's are noisier than others. ABB markets a VFD that they say is very "quiet". Best wishes
