probable problems with Helamin as an Oxygen scavenger

03/29/2008 2:17 AM

Hi

I am working in a power plant that is supplier of steam and boiler feed water for users. We are studying about replacing Helamin instead of Hydrazine as an Oxygen scavenger and we want to know the probable problems that may be occurred for users of our product and return condensate according to this replacement. Can u help me?

thanks & Best regards.

First of all, Helamin is a technology and the product you use IS NOT an oxygen scavenger. The HELAMIN technology is based on a multi-component cationic, anodic surface active mixture of aliphatic protective polyamines and dispersants containing a blend of volatile alkalaizing amines, the formulations components working in a synergistic way to ensure termal stability and the performance pasivation of metal in the entire steam water cicle. The products are environmentally compatibles.

If you use Helamin for the first time, you must have a good technical advisor who understands very well the problems of your power plant. There are only a few specialists in that excellent technology called Helamin and they are very bussy. Why? Because all started from a proprietary formula of FILTRO SA Geneve and the treatment for each plant in the last 25 years was under their control. And they now have over a thousand objectives to survey. Answering on internet seems not to be their passion. And the users know only their plants. With more details about your plant (including the country) will be more easy to find such a specialist. With a proper use of the technology, the manager and the chemist of the plant can slip well many years in a safe environment and with an important cut in costs and bad events. Good luck!

Thanks for your attention.

I am working in Mobin Petrochemical Company that is located in Assaluyeh Free Special Economic Zone, Bushehr province in Iran. We are centralised Utility complex providing utilities for more than seven (7) complexes in the region. High pressure steam at 43bar and 430ºC is produced at the rate of 2000 ton/hr in the plant. Following our search FINEAMINE/HELAMIN have been noticed and decided to be investigated for replacement. In this regard we are looking for strong supporting document for convincement of our management for this replacement or other databases such as table, comparing the FINEAMINE with Hydrazine, Morpholine and STPP, both technically as well as commercially. Since steam produced in the plant is used not only in steam driven turbine but also as feed (eg, in Methanol, Ammonia and Ethane Cracking plant), so we do require references on petrochemical plants using steam on similar applications too.

Thanks for your kind anticipation.

Ok! Iran seems to have a long experience with polyamines technology in rafinery. I need a few days for some questions because I don't want to interfere with local representatives. I need also a neutral mail adress to send to you what I have for the moment in my documents.

That's right that polyamines technology is used in several refineries in Iran but as mentioned steam produced in Mobin plant is used as feed in other plants.

Would you please send your documents via:

Thanks for your attention and kindness.
