How do I decide the feed drives for microlathe?

03/31/2008 11:38 PM

I am doing project in development of microlathe (70 x 70 x 70mm ).I am struggling with selection of feed drives.

Dia of workpiece - 2mm; Depth of cut - 20microns ; Feed - 30 microns/sec We have Labview software. Infact we tried with power screws. but we couldn't get the accuracy. What are the different types of feed drives available for this application.

Note: First we are trying for turning operation only.
