Standard Capture velocities

i ndeed to built a fume extraction system.(MIG plant) i need to know that the required flow rate and fpm to size the duct line.where should i find the standard required capture velocities

dear chaduranga ,

for MIG WELDING fume extraction you go for slot type hood the capture velocity(slot velocity) for welding fume should be 3 to 5 m/s In slot 10 m/s in hood and 15 m/s in duct on a compromise between cost and effective ness.for detail you may go for AMERICAN INDUSTRIAL HYGENE HAND book .
