API 5L X65 PSL2 Yield strength conformation

Dear sir,

I have one Heat no of pipe API 5L X65PSL2 which is having YS-614Mpa.It is higher than the specification requirement 600Mpa.Please advise me how it will be accepted with out doing the Retesting and if it can accept ,what will be the reason.

Yield strength is a property that is generally specifed as a minimum to be met, not an exact number to be "hit."

If the API requirement is 600Mpa minimum YS, the material is compliant with the requirement. The higher the yield strength, the more force that the material will be able to withstand before permanently shanging its dimension,. Thats what Yield strength is.

LIke money, Good looking women, and interest rates on ones savings, More is better.

It ain't like Golf!

Why not look up what All those terms on that test report mean so you can have better understanding? Just google "yield strength, Ultimate tensile strength, % elongation, and % reduction in Area , separately, to learn what those numbers really mean?
