The application is a forming line for disosable caryout cartons the trim left over is ground up and blown back to designated silo's.
Basically, when a machine is shut down, forming line, and the blower is turned off, the line to repro silo back fills with material from silo because other machines are still running into silo. This problem has been present since the opening of the plant. We now leave the blowers run most of the time to prevent this from happening.
What our task is to come up with a check valve to prevent "flake" material entering the flake line when the blowers are not running. This check will more than likely be a wear item and require replacement from time to time, so installation must be simple and ease of maintenance in design.
It is nearly impossible to gain access to the inside of silo's, which was my first thought of a "flapper" style valve.
Please ponder and let me know of any ideas we could try!!
Thanks,
Tim
