What are the main parameters to be considered while designing a storage type gas water heater 30 Gallons.

3 Items:

1. Efficiency of transfer of heat from burning gas to water.

2. Quality of insulation system to retain heat.

3. Lifetime of Assembly

All the above can be summarized by: research the brand to buy! Why try to re-invent something that major companies have spent millions developing? Do you think you have something that can significantly improve their results?

Mythbusters did an excellent little episode turning a hot water heater into a rocket. It discusses many of the safety and other parameters incorporated into today's hot water heaters.
