Artifacts of 'Star Trek' Auction

07/06/2006 1:54 PM

Yeah I know the stigma of Star Trek and the engineering world, but the Times (as in the NY Times) ran this story on an upcoming Christie's Auction and I thought I would pass it on.

Audio Slide Show: Artifacts of 'Star Trek' The stuff of "Star Trek" has been beamed up to the Bronx to be cataloged, photographed and auctioned by Christie's.

oh, one more thing see how many silly comments the Christie's rep says about the props and costumes...I had to play it twice to make sure I heard her right.

qua'plah!

I wonder how much some of this stuff is going to go for at auction? I'd love to get some of it, but my wife would KILL me (she loves Star Trek, but hates collectibles).

Star Trek

Kathy Elkies obviously has no idea what an Uzi looks like.

My daughter's best friend was a big fan of STNG which resulted in taking my daughter and her friend to see a traveling display of Star Trek and NG props at the Museum of Science and Industry in Chicago (maybe 12 years ago). It is not necessary for TV props to look good up close and for the most part these did not.
