LPG is a mixture of gases. Propane and butane being two of them. The weight and BTU output will change depending on the ratio of the blended gases.

Where are you? The propane/butane mix will be different to my neck of the woods.

Get the ratios and we can look up the tables. There's about ten percent less heat value per unit mass in LPG as to Gasoline. However it must be said that gas is different, not only in each season , but in each country. It's a complex issue if you want absolute accuracy.

The LPG is a mixture of propane and butane with a common mixture of 70% and 30%. The specific gravity of that mixture is 0.55 (i.e the density = 550 kg/m3 or 0.55 kg/litre), so the 1 Kg of that mixture of LPG = 1/0.55 litre = 1.818 litre.

We are a designers and fabricators for LPG containers, we have a mass production of a container with a volume of 1800 litre (1.8 m3), we called that vessel with 1 ton LPG vessel.

Note. Any LPG container must filled with the LPG not more than 80% of the volume of the container.
