electric arc furnace. Presumes billet caster.\

Without knowing where in the world, unable to answer.

Also quality and product- flat roll, rebar SBQ.

the original post lacked forethought.

Re: EAF

300 tons per day is very small quantity.

Smallest EAF shop that I knew of was in Koppel PA. 87 tons. That would be 4 heats through the caster. per day.

My last shop was 140 ton heat size, we'd run minimum 3 heat sequence through each tundish. that shop ran round the clock maybe 18-19 heats per day average. 2250 tons per day typical. Thats about 1110 truckloads per day, versus 15 truckloads per day at 300 tons total output. Take a long time to fill a boat at that rate.

That was 171 mm square billets.

Have you done a market study to determine what billet size is desired? for what final products?

At $750 per tonne now, cost-and-freight, for billets (that is current price out of bulgaria, china will be lower) you're only getting $225,000 per day at 100% yield and ignoring freight. My guess is that wouldn't cover the capital cost plus scrap plus manganese plus electricity...

My two cents.

your reply is sad....I have been dealing with the steel mills for a long time and also asked what EAF meant...a very costly way to heat steel....relax why not register and you will find out more help than hinderance.

Re: EAF

Actually I was answering the question raised of what EAF was. I was responsible for Quality and development for a series of electric furnace based steel companies.

Without a location, Whats the point? Had this been North American based, I'd have replied with companies that I know. Since its Middle East. I had nothing more to add.

On this forum, we don't show off, we add value by answering questions we can, and saying nothing when we can't.

Danielli, Voest Alpine, Concast, Rokop

Ladle metallurgy, Submerged casting, and electromagnetic stirring are Must haves for today's quality levels for anything more critical than a tomato stake.

You'll also need a chem lab to assure grade compliance.

The following link will put you in touch with people that have available used Equipment available for relocation and reinstallation:

www.kluetsch.de

Here is link to thier current inventory:

If you put the deal together, give me a shout, I've played this course before...
