Pipe Anchor Hinge Support

05/06/2008 10:36 AM

Dear All,

In one of our pipe stress analysis projects we are using the anchor hinge support.

The software for doing the stress anlaysis is Rohr2 (German software).

By providing the anchor support with hinge the forces and moments at the tank nozzle were brought down to allowable valve given by the tank supplier.

But i dont have the constructional details of anchor with hinge.

If anyone have an idea / arrangement details of this anchor support with hinge please sent it to me.

Thanks in advance,

Baskar

A hinge support prevents horizontal and vertical movement but permits free rotational movement. A hinge support permits only one degree of freedom.

Perhaps you could reduce your forces even more with a roller support. A roller support prevents vertical movement, but permits horizontal and rotational movement. A roller support permits two degrees of freedom.
