Airlines Moving Towards "Insourcing"

Bucking the general outsourcing trend, airlines are finding they can save big dollars by manufacturing parts internally. I wonder if there is some sort of contractural language that bars 3rd party contracting?

Airbus

I was surprised to learn that some of these parts are being manufactured in the United States. A few days ago, Airbus announced its decision to build a major repair center in China. My guess is that they'll eventually start manufacturing parts there, too.
