Selection criteria between pipe & tube

Please guide me for the information regarding boiler design, in this regards when to go for tube and when to go for Pipe.

Dear Sobeh,

We use a PIPE to transfer a fluid from one place to another so the fluid is being transferred in the direction of the pipe center line.In a TUBE we transfer heat energy through the material wall thickness so the heat is being transferred across the tube thickness

Jazakallah, for your valuable suggestion,

But can we interchange the functions of Tube to Pipe and vice a versa, if thickness matches for both ?
