Synchronous Rotary Motion of Two Motors

07/29/2006 10:27 AM

The two ac servo motors (2.75 kw and 7.5kw) need to run in synchronous way (at specified programmable ratio of speeds) at the accuracy of 8,00,000 pulses per rev. Do you know of any products? Thanks.

Try searching Globalspec!
Beckhoff Automation do some products which may fit the bill - try contacting them.

There are a variety of options for synchronizing two motors. The most common is using a motion controller from a motion control company, such as; Beckoff, Bosch/Indramat, Compumotor, Elau, Rockwell or Siemens to name a few. The tricky portion of your question is having 8,000,000 pulses per revolution (PPR). I know a few motion control companies that have 2,000,000 and 4,000,000 PPR feedbacks and most of these are proprietary to that specific motion control company. If you are more specific about your particular application, I might be able to lead you in the right direction but for a rough guideline, I would suggest: For Packaging applications - ELAU For Printing/Converting - Bosch/Indramat or Siemens For General Applications - Bosch/Indramat or Rockwell All of these companies have products that can synchronize two, four, eight or more axes of motion. I hope this helps!
