hello all

I want to open & close the lid of large cylinder with an electric motor

So the motor which I want to use are 16 & 17 RPM and the carrying load (mean weight of lid) are approximately 200kg .

the distence is appox 2500mm

moreover the gear of the motor will be drive the another gear. So I want to find out gear ratio that which type (Dia & no of teeth) of gear use for this application.

so plz help me

thanks

How do you want it to open? Upwards like the bonnet of a car, Sideways like a sliding door turned on its side or sideways from a pivot point? Could you use a hydraulic ram?

Give us more!! What does it say on the motor? 1.5Vdc, 415Vac, 1Hp, 100Hp etc I assume it's a geared motor but who can tell, only you! Give us a photo if you can (preferably with the motors name plate in focus and easily readable)!

hello mr Trumun Brain

actually the lid will be close and open horizontally by sliding motion due to limited space. i m installing the wheel on both side which is driving on railing like railway track. and the wheel will b couple by electric moter, so the power attain by moter,

so the moter is an reversibe electric gear motor with an rpm of 16 or 17

i want to find out the

1 gear ratio

2 gear diameter

3 no of teeth on gear

4 calculating formula

thanks

What is the desired speed? That will determine the Pitch diameter of the final gear.

What type of gear is currently on the motor shaft? Belt, chain, spur,?

How much physical room do you have?

Are the gears driving each other or are they connected by a belt or chain?

what is supporting the lid as it is being slid into the open position?

A sketch of what you want to do is in order.

There are too many unknowns to make a reasonable offer of help.

there r gearimg drive

steel structure is supprt

Have you considered a lead screw design?

http://www.exlar.com

http://www.lsitvc.com/

http://www.kerkmotion.com/

http://www.threadcraft.com

Many others out there on the web.

A linear movement is a good application for lead screws, ball screws, roller screw, etc.

Good luck with your quest.

i have seen the above web sites but there no result found

ok
