Changing magnetic field of Earth

05/23/2008 2:27 PM

I have reason to believe that Earth's magnetic field shifted about a month ago. I don't know whether it affected the exact location of the magnetic north pole or not. If it did, it would have only served to move it directly south. I personally witnessed a very strange phenomonom (the strangest I have ever witnessed in my life) which would be the effect I would expect to witness with such a shift. Also, in the last month, a marked increase in changing weather and earthquake activity has accompanied and/or followed this event.

Has anyone heard anything about the possibility of this actually occuring.

Do any of you have the ability to actually verify if there has been any major changes in Earth's magnetic field.

Yes, I would expect that someone would have already realized this, however, the shift may have only occurred laterally around the equator, and therefore no one may have noticed it.

Easy. The magnetic deviation (the difference between true north and magnetic north, A.K.A variation or declination) is monitored and published periodically for aviation maps.

You should be able to google the web for a site that lists the mag var for your lat/lon. Just look back historically to see how much it has changed.

Try here:

I think this may adjusted daily and you can go back in time for the last 100 years.
