Costing of Sheet Metal Parts

Any software or a spread sheet for doing costing of sheetmetal parts having operations like punching,bending,pem inserting,TIG welding

I am not aware of any (we made up our own based on time studies).

It really is specific to the machine capabilities and tooling you have (operator efficiency can be improved). Remember rated machine efficiency can be (and usually is) different than actual machine performance.

As far as material, we use a percentage based on material required per part (sq.ft./4'x8' sheet).

Get a stop watch and run some parts, start to finish. Check the set-up time, load/unload of material (or part), the actual machine run time, etc for each operation. Work out average times for the initial costing and fine tune the spreadsheet from there.

We then add a percentage over cost to quote the parts. Can't work for free ya know.
