Rectifier

05/28/2008 4:23 AM

Dear all

please suggest me the way,

at present i m using stiller (battery opertaed). but it is not working, so we are doing nothing work from it. so i want to change it with rectifier

i m decided to change the battery & convert it into rectifier type.

so that i can just put the material on it & take it to the top floor(3000mm) above.it is not moving stiller. but we use it on a single place.

at present

i m using 02 nos. 12 v battery (series) operated, 180Ah,25 plate & 6 cell

our pump is d.c. voltage (24v) driven & 250 ampere of controller is available

can any body tell me what type of t/f, rectifier, & diode i use to overcome this problem.

i don't know the rating of pump.

i will be very thankful if any body can explain it bia diagram

or any further suggestion & or quary is welcome

SAHIL SHARMA

I am not sure what a stiller is. By your description it sound like you are using a platform lift as an elevator for lift loads from one floor to the next. Ether you are are having battery or charger problems and as the lift does not move you want to covert it to AC powered. Instead of a building or obtaining a power supply to run the lift replace the motor to run off of your AC current. The OEM may have a AC replacement motor or you can acquire a power pack from industrial supply house.

Sharma,

I'm trying to understand your problem. I don't understand what a "stiller" is but it seems to me that you have a "controller" that can provide up to 250 amps at 24 volts (6000 watts) to a DC motor. Is this correct? That would imply that your motor is up to 10 horsepower. Is it that big? Please look at the plate on the pump motor to determine its size. This will answer your question.

Hello,

For your motor pump load, you can only use thyristor controlled rectifier.

The option of switch mode or IGBT is not suitable for pumps.

Hello Sharma,

Your idea is great but not practical.

I will not recommend modifying the existing "Stiller" lift truck.

Please contact the vendor and for sorting out your problems with the machine.

Modifying a sytem specially a Stiller will create additional problems...for you.

There are lot of safeties inbuilt in a Stiller which will get bypassed if you go for Xmer>rectifier>motor way...and what about the speed control?

Cheers.

I have converted one Battery operated lift truck for AC mains operation by providing a rectifier unit. I do not know about your motor. If good starting torque is not required; just have single phase or three phase step-down transformer with 24V secondary and use high current rating rectifiers. I have used a high rating battery charger for my application that got a built-in soft start function. (I have to slightly modify electronic circuit.)

What I understand is that Mr.Sahil Sharma is having in his factory a Hydraulic Lifting Platform brand name "Stiller". This is being used at one fixed location for feeding some hopper.Height of lift is 3 mts.He is having problem with batteries and wants to operate the hydraulic pump motor through rectifier unit instead of the batteries,he wants to know specs. for Transformer,Rectifier required to convert A.C supply may be single Phase 220 volts,or 3 phase 415 volts which is normal in India. I hope now problem is clarified. Suresh.Sharma.
