06/05/2008 4:18 AM

Good day.

We were task to conduct a study on a stright truck which was converted to a tridem (rear). How do i go about the computation with the allowable load? Can we do load testing on each axle? Please advise.

That depends on where you are. Here in the USA, department of transportation rules figure each axle in a combination with close spacing at 17,000 lb per axle, or with spread spacing between axles, at 20,000 lb per axle, with dual tires, or 12,000 lb per axle with single tires regardless of axle spread. Don't know about other countries.
