The Energy Crisis - Fact or Greed, Profit, Control?

06/15/2008 11:56 AM

I was surfing on Google and found a video on the Energy Crisis by Lindsey Williams - The Energy Non-Crisis.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZFO1tq5OeI

Do any of you know if this is true?

I wondered how many country's have been sold out by their governments?

I have thought for years that the US government was selling out the country and if this video is true then my fears have been correct.

If this is true we are in trouble.

Although the present administration is definitely complaisant it apparently started many years ago. Where has our so called 'freedom of the press' media been all this time?

The American people have been sleeping and apathetic for many years. We have allowed this to happen and are to blame. How many other country's people have been sleeping?

If this is true then all incumbent politicians should be voted out. Term limits should be forced on our government to stop the 'good old boy' situation that has allowed this to happen.

We cannot depend on our so called representatives in Congress to do anything. The only way to save the world from this kind of BS is for the media to properly inform the people. We in the US depend on our media for correct - truthful reporting in a 'free press' environment. Where have the media been? Paid off or restricted by our government?

If this is true then we have only one chance to save the world. The people must wake up and get our governments back to democracy's - 'BY THE PEOPLE AND FOR THE PEOPLE".

I am really mad about this. Please someone who knows tell me that this is a false misrepresented video. Many country's have lost great service men & women over greed and political misrepresentation if this is true.

What part of this are you particularly mad about? I am not sure I understand...

Is there a lot of oil on the North Slope? Yes

Is gas re-injected? Yes, that is an easy way to get more oil out keeps the field pressure up. Nothing sinister there, gas is re-injected in most oil fields around the world. It also avoids flaring the gas as many oil fields are so remote that there is no gas pipeline to them.

Is none of the North Slope oil allowed to get to the US? Not sure about that one. I know a lot of it goes to Japan, but I am pretty sure at least some goes to the NW US (Washington, Oregon area).

Are US refineries at max production? Not right now, except for diesel, which is indeed in short supply, due to government mandated ULSD. Many of our diesel importers did not update their processes to ULSD so we can't import the diesel we need either.

Has there not been a new refinery constructed in 20 years? Literally true, but very misleading. Existing refineries have been expanded over and over again, so while there has been no new ones, refining capacity has increased. The company I work for is in construction right now to double the capacity of one of our biggest refineries. Does that count as a new one?

Is there enough in Alaska to provide the needs of the US? probably, that is why they keep wanting to open up ANWR.

Does the US keep it out of production to pay back investors in US debt? I wouldn't be a bit surprised.

Would the US economy crash if investors stopped taking on US debt? No doubt, but then the world economies are well enough integrated now, that they could not play that card without hurting themselves as well.

Have we hit "Peak Oil" I don't think so. I think the easy oil may be on the down turn, but I believe there is plenty of oil out there. Especially in deep water. The economics are just now right to go get it.

Will the price of oil fall over the coming years? I think so. We shall see.

why do you blame anyone but yourself. I'd say the present leaders tried to slow down the issue of energy, but we the people won't stand for it. We bought big cars, we stopped development of energy, we added new rules to likit energy, we have become a lot of global warming sheep. So learn to live with it.
