Recycling JEDEC / Matrix Trays

06/30/2008 3:11 AM

I work for a contract electronic Manufacturer and have just taken on the role of Environmental Officer and am looking to increase our recycling. However I have come up against a bit of a brick wall when it comes to recycling JEDEC / Matrix Trays. Does anyone know of a company in UK / Europe that does recycle them?

How many do you have?

We have arrangement with our LED supplier that we return ALL tubes for them to re-use. (We are in Australia, they are in Europe.) I'ts cost effective for them apparently and saves on our scrap.

Better for the environment too, as there is not the associated loss of re-processing the material.

Alternatively, ask your supplier for biodegradeable trays so you can feel "greener"when they are disposed of.
