Pneumatic metric fittings

06/30/2008 11:10 AM

Hello everyone I am trying to find information on the different types of pneumatic fittings. Some type of chart or table would be great. My project will be using NPT, G and R type fittings. I know very little about the G and R type threads. I don't know how to spec them out on the drawing for manufactoring.

The G thread is also a BSPP (British Standard Pipe Parallel) which uses a sealing washer. This is the one were i need to get the size right for the sealing washer to be compressed. And I also heard that the G thread and R thread fittings will work in both the G and R tapped hole?

Any details on any of these types of connections, specifically drawing details would be most helpful.

Thank you

I am sure the G thread would work fine in a R thread hole, and the advantage would be that you do not have to use a sealing washer and the taper in the G thread would automatically seal the joint.
