Induction Field From 110-KV Grid

07/01/2008 11:19 AM
110kv grid is already laid and a building is being constructed under the grid

Grid is 27 meter above ground level and building will be 17 meter high.

So building will be 10 meter away from grid.

What is regulation in this connection ? what is safe distance recommended ?

I would advise you to check out the local regs or enquire at the planning office! The building sounds quite close but it all depends what the people of the board say! Remember, it's not only the building that needs the recommended distances but also the construction equipment like the cranes!

Usually the owner of the grid will have an easment under the grid that will prohibit permanent structures under the grid. Check for property easements, and whether you have the right to construct the building under the utility.

to me, i would recomend the owner of building and the construction engr. for psychiatry test if they are building a permanent structure of that hieght under 110KV grid. local autority must be informed.
