VCB & ACB

When shoud we use VCB and ACB?Any amps limit is there?

The use of VCB and ACB depends on the level of safety (limits sparks in switching ,prevents accidents)you decide for the system you design and the spending capacity of the user.

Normally VCB/ OCB/ MOCB/ SF6 circuit breakers are used in HT switch gear for reason of safety . VCBs are compact and maintenance free so they are preferred but are costly.

ACB is normally used for LT substations and no load HT breakers.

Well, while on this topic for rolling mill motor application which is started by LCI which type of circuit breaker we should choose? I heard some rescriction on one than other. Let me check from ans in CR4.
