petrochemical and refinery info

07/09/2008 3:24 PM

I would like to know where I could obtain photos or drawings of petrochemical or refineries dating around the 1940s to late 1950s for the purpose of building a reduced version for my model railroad. This would be for US based only since that is the location of my model RR. Any help would be appreciated.

1. Some of the oil companies have photos on the history pages of their websites.

2. Try www.oldgas.com as well. There may be something there you can use.

Also try a search of all the production/refining company websites. They often have an historical archive in the "about us" section, which most seem to have.

You might even try looking under well drilling on eBay for photos of rigs, etc. I have seen them there many times.
