Redundant configuration

07/12/2008 3:02 AM

Hello Frnds

What is the difference between 1oo2 Congiguration and 1oo2D For ESD systems

I believe D is for degraded, but how is it different from the previous one?

Also, which one is better if I am chosing between 1oo2D and 2oo3 (TMR ) configuration irrespective of cost Implications.

Regards

Jose

Hi Jose,

1>>Regarding to Voting Configuration in SIS- safety intrusmented system, we can define what is different between 1oo2 and 1oo2D:

- D means Diagnostic. Therefore 1oo2D will voting when 1 or 2 input activate ; or 1 or 2 input is failure. Meanwhile 1oo2 will voting when 1 or 2 input activate.

2>> Compare Voting configuration between 1oo2D and 2oo3 with my opinion I choose 2oo3 because more stable for SIS,

Salam Jose; Beside voting system you have to check also the processor redundancy like 3-2-1(Three system processor elements working: reverting to two system processor elements working in the presence of a single fault, reverting to one system processor element working in the presence of two faults) and 3-2-0(Three system processor elements working: reverting to two system processor elements working in the presence of a single fault, reverting to no system processor element working in the presence of two faults)..... mohand babekir
